PHNOM PENH, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni on
Monday left for Vietnam on a 3-day state visit to boost ties between
the two countries.
The king was seen off at the the Phnom Penh International Airport by
Prime Minister Hun Sen, National Assembly president Heng Samrin, 1st
vice-president of the Senate Say Chhum, senior government officials and
royal family members.
The visit was made at the invitation of Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, Xinhua news agency reported.
Cambodia and Vietnam established diplomatic ties on June 24, 1967
which have expanded through the exchange of visits by leaders from both
sides.
The two neighbours have also had good trade and investment relations.
According to Vietnam's Trade Office, two-way trade volume was
US$1.96 billion in the first seven months of 2012, a 23 percent
increase compared with a year ago.
