Pheu Thai’s No 1 list MP-elect Yingluck Shinawatra said on Tuesday morning that she believed the Election Commission would give her justice when deciding today whether to endorse her election as a list MP.
Ms Yingluck refused to comment on whether outgoing Prime Minister and Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva would be endorsed.
She said she did not want to put pressure on the election commissioners’ decision. The EC had not called her to clarify the allegation that she had violated the election law her election campaign before July 3.
The in-waiting prime minister was confident that she had not violated the law as alleged and that the EC would give her justice.
Asked about the ruling on the Thai-Cambodian border dispute by the International Court of Justice on Monday, Ms Yingluck said as her party has not officially in government yet she could not comment at this time.
As a Thai citizen she was ready to do anything to protect the country’s sovereignty and to restore good relations with Cambodia.
The youngest sister of fugitive former prime minister Thaksin said the person who will be the new foreign minister must be able to make friends with neighbouring countries.
