(VOV) - Vietnamese veteran experts in Cambodia have contributed greatly to promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.
Mr. Triet emphasized this at a July 18 meeting with the Vietnam veteran expert liaison committee, led by its Head Vu Oanh, who is also a former Party Politburo member.
The State leader asked the veteran experts to continue making contributions by educating future generations about the fine relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
He also stressed that Vietnam-Cambodia friendship and comprehensive cooperation has expanded to all fields.
Since it was established in 1998, the liaison committee has gathered Vietnamese veteran experts who have helped the Cambodian government at central and local levels. Nearly 10,000 experts have been awarded insignias for their contributions to the Cambodian revolution.
President Triet also granted VND200 million to the committee’s fund at the meeting.
