The prime minister pledges the government
will provide full assistance for residents in the southern border
region at their requests.
Speaking during her meeting with a group of youths from Pattani
Province, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said the government is
ready to address any problems facing the people in the southern border
provinces upon their requests.
She remarked Thai people nationwide always give moral support to those living in the strife-ridden southernmost region.
Core member of a group of women affected by violence in the region,
Koleyor Hali advised Yingluck to visit the area and stay overnight
there like her brother Thaksin Shinawatra did while being in power.
The premier today had a luncheon meeting with Defense Minister Air
Chief Marshal Sukampon Suwannatat and Foreign Minister Surapong
Towichakchaikul over the International Court of Justice's ruling on the
Thai-Cambodian border dispute and Cambodia' road construction that
encroaches on some parts of overlapping area.
