Phumin Leethiraprasert, an MP of Puea Pandin Party, had resigned as deputy spokesman after he and some of his colleagues had voted against ministers of Bhumjaithai Party at the censure debate, reports said.
In his resignation letter addressed to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, Mr Phumin gave three reasons;
1) The prime minister decided to protect the ministers grilled on corruption allegation.
2) The prime minister has no political ethics for failing to clearly state whether to allow Puea Pandin to continue joining the coalition. He failed to discuss with core members of the Puea Pandin Party about the problem, and
3) The prime minister failed to create national reconciliation and had used forces to crackdown on red-shirt protesters, resulting nearly 100 deaths and many more injuries. This had damaged image of the government.
The MP said it is not the right thing for some MPs of Puea Pandin to continue joining the coalition.
He and his colleagues had not discussed whether to join the opposition Puea Thai Party in the future.
The failure to vote in support of the target ministers of the Bhumjaithai Party had led to a removal of ministers from Puea Pandin, former industry minister Charnchai Chairungruang, former information and communication technology Ranongruk Suwunchwee and former finance minister Pruektichai Damrongrut.
