Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Pan Guangxue on Friday spoke highly on
Chinese language volunteers' contribution in Cambodia, hailing them as
ambassadors of Chinese culture and language in Cambodia.
Speaking
to the third tranche of Chinese volunteers in China's embassy, Pan said
he appreciates the volunteers' contribution in spreading Chinese
culture and teaching Chinese language, which enhances the
people-to-people exchanges between the two peoples.
Also, Pan
briefly introduced Cambodia's culture and society to the new comers, as
well as the bilateral ties between the China and Cambodia in the fields
of diplomacy, economy and cultural exchanges.
Pan said 2012
functions as a milestone year in the history of China-Cambodia
friendship as many Chinese high-ranking officials had paid successful
visits in the past months, including Chinese president Hu Jintao,
senior party leader He Guoqiang, as well as other ministerial leaders.
Pan
encourages the newly arrived volunteers to further promote Chinese
language and culture to the Cambodian natives during their one-year
service and elevate the Chinese exposure to the local people.
The
new tranche of 73 Chinese had arrived at the capital of Phnom Penh on
Friday's early morning with the age range from 22 to 33.
Most of
them are graduates from Chinese leading universities. They will be
working in Chinese schools in different Cambodian provinces for at
