SINGAPORE: Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Lui Tuck Yew will attend the 17th ASEAN Transport Ministers' (ATM) Meeting and meetings with ASEAN Dialogue Partners in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
He'll be there from December 15 to 16.
The meeting will discuss progress on regional aviation, land, and maritime transport, as well as transport facilitation initiatives.
Singapore's Ministry of Transport said the ministers are expected to sign the Protocol to Implement the Seventh Package of Commitments on Air Transport Services under the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services (AFAS).
This will support the liberalisation of aviation-related services and ASEAN's broader goal of economic liberalisation and integration.
The ministers are also expected to jointly issue a Declaration to adopt the Implementation Framework of the ASEAN Single Aviation Market (ASAM), including the Roadmap covering economic and technical air transport co-operation.
They'll also meet their counterparts from China, Japan and South Korea to discuss issues relating to transport co-operation efforts between ASEAN and its Dialogue Partners.
Mr Lui will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Land Transport Authority, and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
