YANGON, July 19 (Bernama) -- Myanmar President U Thein Sein was
confirmed to pay a good will visit to Thailand in days according to an
official announcement Thursday after postponement twice, China's Xinhua
news agency reported.
Thein Sein's trip to the Southeast Asian neighbour was originally
scheduled for June 4 to 5 when he was also set to address the World
Economic Forum on East Asia in Bangkok. The visit was so put off due to
the then domestic situation.
Thein Sein is expected to hold talks with Thai Prime Minister
Yingluck Shinawatra and the two leaders will witness the signing of a
memorandum of understanding on cooperation for development in Myanmar
covering human resource development and preparations for Myanmar to
take the chairmanship of Asean in 2014.
Thein Sein last met Yingluck in Cambodia's Siem Reap on the sidelines of the United States-Asean Business Forum on July 13.
