Supporters of Thai Patriots Network, a political faction of "yellow-shirt", insisted on Saturday that they would continue rallying at Government House even with the release of five Thais by the Cambodian court.
"We will keep on protesting until the remaining two Thais are released", a network core leader said on the rally stage.
The Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Friday afternoon sentenced five of the seven arrested Thais for illegal entry to nine months each in jail and fined 1 million riels (250 U.S. dollars) each, but the jailed term is suspended.
The fives include Thai Democratic Party lawmaker Panich Vikitsreth, Samdin Lersbusya, secretary for the Heaven and Earth Party, Kochpontorn Chusanaseree, assistant to Panich, Taynae Moongmachon, pressperson and Ms. Naruemol Chitwaratana, house keeper.
The verdict has not yet been passed on the cases of Veera Somkwamkid, a coordinator of Thai Patriots Network, and his secretary Ms. Ratree Pipatanapaibul, who are facing additional charges of an attempt in "collecting information which might damage Cambodia's national security."
Veera has been denied bail and remains at Prey Sar prison.
Ms Ratree was granted a bail and is staying at the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh.
