Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his team left Bangkok for a brief official visit to Vietnam on Friday to strengthen ties and discuss economic cooperation.
Mr Abhisit is expected to discuss with his Vietnamese counterpart the revision of cooperation agreements to bring the utmost benefits to both countries. Topics include trade, investment, tourism and transportation development.
The two are also expected to touch on ways to encourage good relations through youth programmes and cultural exchange programmes.
Mr Abhisit was scheduled to return to Thailand on Friday night.
