Fear not! Overcrowding is not the only problem at hospital …

bye Prey Nokor
It’s the toilet! According to a special report by Tui Tre Newspaper, a VN government controlled media.

The sub-standard toilet facity in Vietnam’s public hospital is so bad that it’s “critically deteriorated, dirty and smelly. Ironically, with toilet hygiene so bad, places to treat diseases have become places that spread disease.” According to Tui Tre.

In Ang Binh Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City (Prey Nokor), the toilet is hidden in a little corner, with a woman awaiting for collect fee for the use of the toilet. Beside this, the door latches of the cubicals were broken, and the used toilet paper was on the floor!

At Saigon Polytechnic hospital emergency ward, the report have found “the women’s WC includes five stalls. Only two had elevated flush toilets, and both these stalls were closed. The three remaining stalls contained only just squat toilets set in brick floors. One of them could not be used because it was flooded with waste water. Toilet papers floated on the floor. There was no dustbin in the toilet. All users had to hold their noses and sit on their heels to urinate.“

The same condition is found in most public hospitals.

It’s blamed on people not knowing how to use the toilet and the poor facility that these toilet equips. Director of Thanh Nhan Hospital, Mr. Chinh said “the Health Ministry doesn’t have common regulations on standardized patient facilities. When building hospitals, we don’t pay attention to design that meets patients’ needs.”

But if you think hospitals in Prey Nokor is bad, Ha Noi is much worst! It “scare patients” say Tui Tre.
