KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Malaysian police authorities has proposed to the government for placing their officers overseas in an effort to curb international drug trafficking, local media reported on Thursday.
The overseas destinations identified in the proposal include the Netherlands, Peru, Iran, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Hong Kong, China.
If everything goes well, Malaysia would send one or two officers to each country and region, whose job is to gather intelligence and share information, said Federal Narcotics director Zulhasanan Najib Baharudin.
