The Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia has set up good relations with local authorities and won trust of the Vietnamese community in the country.
The assessment was made at a conference on January 30 to review the association’s operation over the past two years and work out its plan for this year.
So far, the association has 19 chapters across Cambodia. It also set up the Association of Overseas Vietnamese Enterprises in Cambodia, which has operated effectively and generated numerous jobs for overseas Vietnamese.
The association has organised courses to teach Vietnamese to children and raised funds for poor families of the community.
It plans to increase the number of chapters to 21 in the near future, coordinate closer with local authorities and create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community.
