The Military Telecom Corporation (Viettel) has signed an agreement with the Quang Tri People’s Committee to provide the poor mountain district of Dakrong VND4.42 billion (US$250,000) in aid.
The money will be used to build houses for 648 poor families; provide mobile phone services to the district and internet services and computers to all schools; and buy TV sets and digital receiver boxes for the Commune People’s Committees and health centres.
Viettel will also present VND1 billion worth scholarships to students in the district each year.
