Khmer Krom Women was infured after being hit
by Vientamese Authorities
While Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Federation is conducting the demonstration at Geneva, Khmer Kampuchea-Krom farmers in homeland are also conducting, and they said that this demonstration have just demanded their farmerland.
Khmer Krom in Mort Chrout province as known An Giang approximatley than 200 people have conducted the demonstration in different places in Kampuchea-Krom, according to the information from protesters.
Mrs. Neang Danh, who is a Khmer Kampuchea-Krom people living in Chi Ka-Eng village, Chau Lang commune, Svai Ton district said that there are around 100 people whom demonstrate in front of Chau Lang commune at Svai Ton district to demand their farmerland. Mrs. Neang Danh said that she knows today there are many Khmer and Khmer Krom around the world conduct the demonstration at Geneva, but what she and Khmer Krom people in homeland do is just demand to return their farmland which was be confiscated by Vietnamese authorities during 1980-1982.
"Today we have met each other in front of Chau Lang commune to demand our farmland. There are around 100 people from some villages in Chau Lang commune," Mrs. Neang Danh said. "We have been accused that to be ordered from out side, but we want to tell that nonoe orders us. We just demand again our farmland which Vietnamese authorities ever promised to returnus, but nothing...," Mrs. Neang Danh said.
Mr. Chau Sarone, 46 ages who is living in Chi Ka-Eng village, Chau Lang commune, has conducted the demonstration with other villagers said that most villagers are standing in front of Chau Lang commune, because they closed the door and not allow them to enter. Chau Sarone said, "We come here from 8 AM till 10 AM. We do not know what they treat us to be ordered by anyone, but we come here just want to get our farmland."
Mr. Chau Sarone said that the villagers not be allowed to enter to meet the authorities in commune, and all of them have to be pushed to go back home after there are many polices attempt to arrest them send to the bus and car. "We come back again, but now there are many police and authorities still threaten to arrest us and ask who is leader? and order?" Chau Sarone said.
Khmer Kampuchea-Krom in Mort Chrout as known An Giang province always say that their farmland was be confiscated to share Vietnamese people by Vietnamese authorities during 1980-1982 while Vietnamese authorities have played the bad trick to send Khmer Krom there to Hau Giang, Kleang or New Economic Areas. After they went back, their homes, lands was be confiscated and living by Vietnamese. From that time, Khmer Krom in Svai Ton and Kra Bao as known Tinh Bien always stand up themselves to demand its again.
Mr. Chau In said there are also around 100 villagers conduct the demonstration at An Cu commune, Kra Bao district as known Tinh Bien. Time and date is the same and not have any dangerous thing to happen... Mr. Chau In continued that they do not get any resulf after conducting, but they are be forced to return back if not, they will be arrested.
For demonstration in Mort Chrout province, it is multiple time to conduct. The first time, Khmer Krom in Mort Chrout conducted it was on 1-2 September, 2007 when the Vietnam's National Day is comming. From that time till now, everything is going on , and the authorities have just promised to solve and return back to them, but every promise is idle promise.
