Congratulate Khmer Krom protest in Geneva

Buddhist Monks in Geneva

Many students from Kampuchea-Krom, are studying at Prei Nokor City (Ho Chi Minh) have congratulated the Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation and Compatriots from the world to protest in Geneva last May 7-8, 2009.

A Khmer Krom student whom is studying at Prei Nokor at the last year of IT, shows his congratulation to our Khmer and Khmer Krom in overseas to protest to demand the rights, freedom, and voice for Khmer Krom people in homeland.

Mr. Chau Chinh Veasna said, "I am very glad when i have heard our Khmer in overseas to demonstrate peacfully to demand the rights to self determination when we in our homeland can't do it." Veasna also said that he and most of students in Prei Nokor always follow events in outside which always conduct by Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation (KKF). He said that Khmer Krom people strongly support that activites even if they can not participate with them.

Nowadays, there are many students from different provinces are studying in Prei Nokor City. Most to them always follow the situation in homeland, and they always listen to the Radio Free Asia (RFA) broadcasted about Khmer Kampuchea-Krom events though it is hard to listen.

A student unknow name said he would like to congratulate Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation delegation, especially Mr. Thach Ngoc Thach who is the best leader and the hope of Khmer Krom people. "Last activities in Geneva I believe that everyone from other countries will know who Khmer Krom are and from where," He said. "Beside Mr. Thach Ngoc Thach is a president of KKF, still have Mr. Thach Vien. Mr. Thach Vien is a tireless person. He has gone around the world to promote our rights and push us in homeland to stand up by self by peaceful protest," a student unknow name added.

Source from KKF, there are Khmer Krom living in Kampuchea-Krom (south Vietnam) approximately 8 millions people.

Khmer Kampchea-Krom in homeland always complain that they are living in injustice, discrimination, no rights, and do not be allowed to prastise their own culture, even traditional. For this reason, Khmer Krom in Mort Chrout always conduct the demonstration in Chau Lang commune, Svai Ton district, An Giang province, Can Tho City and sometime they go to protest at Prei Nokor also...

Anyway, the activies of Khmer Krom in overseas are be strongly supported by Khmer Krom students in homeland, and many students show their special thank to KKF leaders. Moreover, they also special thank our Khmer and Khmer Krom around the world who support and participate with Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation. Khmer Krom in homeland strongly congratulate and treat these activies into the historic of Khmer Krom.
