Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Tea Banh left here on Monday for Brunei to attend the 7th ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting (7th ADMM), which is set to be held on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters at Phnom Penh International Airport before his departure, Tea Banh said the upcoming meeting will serve as a follow-up to the 6th ADMM in Phnom Penh in May last year.

"Besides, the 7th ADMM will exchange views on current issues and challenges faced in the region in order to promote mutual trust and confidence," he said.

It will also discuss the first-ever multilateral military exercise under the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting-Plus (ADMM- Plus) on the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief and Military Medicine that Brunei will host in June.

The 7th ADMM will be held under the theme "Securing Our People, Our Future Together".

Founded in 1967, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
