Army disable war heroes to compete in world volley ball tournament


Twelve disable War Heroes of the Army are to participate in the World Championship Volley Ball Tournament, scheduled to be held in Cambodia between July 20 - 30.

This is the first time a volley ball team from Sri Lanka has been selected to attend a World Championship Tournament, held overseas. Slovakia, Laos, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Germany, India, Malaysia, Egypt, China, Thailand and Australia are also to be represented in the tournament.

Major General P Abeysekara (chief of the team), Karunaratne Wickremasinghe (team manager), A.C.K Arthanayaka (team leader), Lalith Premalal (coach) and Anura Sumanasekara (assistant coach) will accompany them to Cambodia.
