The government is not worried about the red-shirts’ plan to gather at the Supreme Court on the Feb 26 to listen to the verdict of the court on Thaksin assets seizure case, Deputy Prime Minister for security affairs Suthep Thaugsuban said.

“I am also not concerned about the possible movements by the red-shirts in 38 risk provinces as the government has already prepared to deal with the situation. But the government will not allow any unrest as happened in the April’s riots”, Mr Suthep said on Tuesday morning.

Asked about ousted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s announcement that he would continue fighting until he gets justice, Mr Suthep said it is a common thing for a defendant to act that way. He was confident the court would give justice to Thaksin.

The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions will on Feb 26 give its ruling whether to seize the 76 billion baht in assets of Thaksin and his family.
