China, Vietnam agree to further cooperation

BEIJING, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- China hopes to strengthen ties with Vietnam by expanding friendly cooperation in all fields, Li Yuanchao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said Wednesday.
Li, who is also secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Organizational Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during talks with To Huy Rua, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC).
Li pointed out that it is very important to promote a China-Vietnam strategic partnership at this time of complicated international situation.
"China hopes to work with the Vietnamese government to strengthen political contacts, increase strategic mutual understanding, further exchanges regarding the party's and the country's governance and expand friendly cooperation in all fields so as to develop China-Vietnam friendship," he said.
To Huy Rua, also secretary of the CPVCC Secretariat and head of the CPVCC's Commission for Organization, said Vietnam attaches great importance to developing ties with China and is willing to work with China to implement the consensus reached by the two countries' leaders and promote bilateral ties to a higher level.
