BEIJING -- China will offer emergency humanitarian aid worth 50 million yuan (7.87 million U.S. dollars) to flood-ravaged Cambodia to help relief efforts, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said Monday.

The move shows the Chinese government's and people's friendship with the government and people of Cambodia, the MOC said in a brief statement on its website.

China will send the aid soon, it said.

Flooding on the Mekong River and flash floods have killed at least 207 people and affected about 1.2 million people in Cambodia, Nhim Vanda, first vice president of the National Committee for Disaster Management, said in a press briefing on Monday.
