BALING: The Jejak Warisan Jawi 2 (JWJ2) expedition that tracks the origins of Malay Muslims in seven countries throughout South-East Asia will be documented and exhibited.
Putra 1Malaysia Club president Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said the team taking part in the 25-day expedition – covering Thailand, Laos, China, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and also Malaysia – took video footages, photographs and held interviews during the trip.
The expedition, organised by Majma Budaya and Warisan Jawi and sponsored by Putra 1Malaysia Club, saw 35 participants travelling on seven four-wheel drive vehicles to the seven countries from May 24.
The expedition which covered more than 17,000km ended yesterday.
Speaking to reporters after welcoming members of the expedition back in Kampung Bukit Tok Pulai, here, Abdul Azeez said the club hoped to organise more such expeditions to other countries.
At the same event, Abdul Azeez presented RM50,000 to the Baling Imam Association for religious activities during the fasting month in August.
