The overseas tour market on the Chinese mainland was very prosperous during the May Day holiday and the market performance in China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were relatively stable.
Traditionally popular destinations such as Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia in Southeast Asia attracted a large number of visitors during the May Day holiday, and the number of visitors to Europe and America also significantly increased.
According to sources, overseas tours in North Africa, the Middle East, Japan and South Korea are now stagnant under the influence of the wars in the Middle East and the Japan earthquake. Therefore, visitors that wanted to take overseas trips mainly focus on Southeast Asia and Taiwan region, as well as medium to long-term travel routes in Europe and America.
The four to five-day travel routes to destinations such as Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries were the most popular among tourists, and the three to four-day travel routes to destinations such as Singapore and Malaysia, as well as tours to conventional island destinations such as the Bali Islands and Phuket Island were also very popular.
In addition, European tour routes were very popular as well, and the number of European tour groups from travel services such as China International Travel Service, China Travel Service and China Youth Travel Service increased 30 to 200 percent compared with the same period of 2010.
