Philippine President Benigno Aquino says his country is prepared to step in to help resolve a bitter Thai-Cambodian border dispute.
Mr Aquino says the Philippines will send observers to help resolve the border row if they are needed.
The fighting, which has left 18 dead and temporarily displaced 85,000 people, dominated the annual summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in May.
"If both sides are interested, the Philippines is ready to help," Mr Aquino told AFP following a meeting with Thailand's leader, Abhisit Vejjajiva.
Tensions between Thailand and Cambodia centre on a small patch of land surrounding the 1000-year-old Preah Vihear temple on their shared border, although the most recent clashes were about 150 kilometres further west.
The relationship between the neighbours has been strained since Preah Vihear was granted UN World Heritage status in 2008.
