The prime minister pledges the government will provide full assistance for residents in the southern border region at their requests.

Speaking during her meeting with a group of youths from Pattani Province, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said the government is ready to address any problems facing the people in the southern border provinces upon their requests.

She remarked Thai people nationwide always give moral support to those living in the strife-ridden southernmost region.

Core member of a group of women affected by violence in the region, Koleyor Hali advised Yingluck to visit the area and stay overnight there like her brother Thaksin Shinawatra did while being in power.

The premier today had a luncheon meeting with Defense Minister Air Chief Marshal Sukampon Suwannatat and Foreign Minister Surapong Towichakchaikul over the International Court of Justice's ruling on the Thai-Cambodian border dispute and Cambodia' road construction that encroaches on some parts of overlapping area.
