The second foreign ministerial meeting among five Mekong countries and Japan has been held in Cambodia's Siem Reap province.
China View reports the meeting aimed to boost joint development efforts in the region.
Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong, who chaired the one-day session, said the gathering is another step further in the realization of the partnership for the development of the Mekong basin.
He says the partnership would certainly yield great benefit for people living along the Mekong River and Japan as well.The meeting was attended by foreign ministers from Cambodia, Laos, Burma, Thailand and Japan.
Vietnam was represented by a deputy foreign minister.The Mekong-Japan Partnership Program was launched in 2007 for the sake of peace, development and prosperity in the Mekong sub-region.
