Appeal for demonstration on the 08/May/2009
For Khmer Krom Human Rights protection
In front of the Human Rights Council, Geneva, Switzerland
The history between Khmer and Vietnam has been going on for one decade to the next until the world has forgotten the indigenous people. There are 370 million who are caught up in an uncaring war; a war of modern colonisation that eliminates their heredity and religion. In our case, the Vietnam leaders have escaped world pressure and continue to oppress the Khmer people living in Kampuchea-Krom.

Protesting is one way to demonstrate and voice the issues in order to put pressure on the Hanoi government, who continue violate the human rights of Khmer Krom even though it has signed the international human rights treaties.
A historical protest will be conducted on 8th May 2009 in front of the Human Rights Council; Geneva, Switzerland to show the world that the Khmer Krom people have been forgotten because of a war that continues to rage inside, with the goal of the Vietnam leaders is to swallow the whole of Kampuchea-Krom.
Khmer Krom must stand up to fight for their rights!!!!
The Universal Declaration on Human Rights, the Declaration on the rights of Indigenous Peoples such as religious freedom, Women’s Rights, Freedom of Expression and Self-Determination is oppressed.
The Khmers Kampuchea-Krom Federation hereby declares that we will continue to advocate for all victims of the human rights oppression and condemn the current situation; with the unjust Vietnamese government who continues to violate the Universal Declaration on Human Rights, Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and also Vietnam’s own National Constitution.
In order to make this once in a time protest successful on the international stage as we did in 2007, it is up to all of Khmer compatriots in Europe to lend support mentally, financial and by attending in physical presence. Likewise it is also up to all the Khmer people around world to help support this major protest by combining efforts to make it work. Such as posting letters of support, give donations to support this protest, pass the word to all people that are of Khmer blood, your families, friends, grandchildren, foreign friends, NGOs, government officials and the governments of the country that you reside in.
This great non-violent protest is historic and it is the first that the Human Rights Council asks Vietnam to review its human rights record and abuses against it indigenous peoples on the world stage.
