Muslims Invited To Join Qurban, Aqiqah Programme In Cambodia And Vietnam

BESUT-- Muslims in Malaysia are invited to participate in a Qurban and Aqiqah programme for their brethren in Cambodia and Vietnam on Aidiladha in early November.

Programme coordinator Mohd Ajib Ismail from the Malaysia Islamic Development Department (Jakim) said the Quran and Aqiqah this time would be carried out in villages with many poor people residing.

Mohd Ajib, who is also treasurer of the Jakim Religious Service Staff Association, said the programme would be undertaken by the association with the cooperation of the Islamic Studies Faculty of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Cambodian Muslim Intellectual Alliance (CMIA).

The contribution for a portion of a sacrificial cow is fixed at RM240 and RM1,680 for a whole cow or seven portions.

Muslims who wish to participate in the programme, which has been organised since 2009, can send their contribution through Bank Muamalat account number 16010000475719 and the money deposit slip to be faxed to 03-88880261 or emailed to mohdajib@islam.gov.my.
