It is a great relief for the peace-loving Cambodian people that the Royal Government of Cambodia under the wise leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has achieved:
- a ceasefire under mutual oral agreements between military leaders reached 19 February 2011,
- the avoidance of future clashes and incidents with the participation of Indonesian officials as observers of the ceasefire, and
- the appropriate engagement by the current ASEAN Chairman to have Cambodia and Thailand holding bilateral talks under Cambodian-Thai Joint Border Commission in a third country.
In addition, ASEAN members other than Cambodia and Thailand have witnessed the commitment of Cambodia and Thailand for the achievements described above.
The Cambodian people have very good reasons to thank Samdech Techo for his wise leadership, the Cambodian Armed Forces for their heroism and sacrifice and everyone who pulled together in support of the Royal Government and the Armed Forces.
